Welcome Letter

‘Bringing out the best in everyone’

I would like to welcome you to our school website on behalf of the children, staff and Governors.

Haversham Village School opened in 1965 and has a long history of being a successful village school, based in the heart of the community. It is a small, rural Infant School for 4 – 7 year olds. The children attend from Haversham, Wolverton and other areas of north Milton Keynes. In 2011 the school expanded from two classes to three, so we now have three Year Group classes, with the Foundation Class called ‘Rabbits’, the Year One class called ‘Squirrels’ and the Year Two class called ‘Owls’.

The school underwent an OFSTED Inspection in September 2010 and was graded ‘outstanding’. We are very proud of our school and it was wonderful to have our strengths validated in this way. However, we are not complacent, and are always looking for ways to further improve. It is an exciting time for the school for the school as the numbers on roll continue to grow and we build on our OFSTED success. I passionately believe the school is a special, nurturing place which ‘brings out the best in everyone’ We have a small, dedicated staff and local governors who work hard to ensure that we offer the best education to the children. We believe Haversham Village School is a very happy place, where children feel secure, safe and welcome. We aim to nurture excellence and enjoyment in a friendly, homely atmosphere.

The best way to get a true impression of our school is to visit during the school day. Visits by parents and children are welcomed. We hope that when you have visited us, you will want to come and join our community. If your child is to join us for the first time we welcome you as parents/carers and look forward to a happy and successful partnership over the coming years. If you already have a child here, we look forward to strengthening the links to between us.

Best wishes,
Alison Mears
